Thank you Nick for the awesome hospitality. The chimichanga was amazing and the best that I have ever had. Hope you enjoy the new tables and stools. Great service and great place for family and friends.

Fresh and delicious food, great atmosphere and John, the waiter, is awesome, very nice to look at too.

They have the most excellent shrimp and grits here! Salsa is fresh! The view is amazing! I look forward to coming here!

This place SUCKS!! Should have read prior reviews. Horrible service, messed up my order and just ok food...definitely not Mexican food. Plus they were out of most beers!? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Burrito was pretty good. Service was very fast and friendly. Only complaint were the bees flying around.

  • Rod H.

The view from the deck upstairs is fantastic. When going to a beach bar I don't have huge expectations. They have dog fish head on tap and food wasn't bad,

  • Jim L.

I really liked it. Very fresh fish. I had the mahi mahi del Diego. Delicious. Great wait service. I will visit again

  • Shane M.

If the food was as good as the place looks, the rating would be higher. Very small portions over spiced and over priced!

What a great place! Friendliest bartender and GM ever! I didn't catch their names, but both were from Upperstate NY. Great drinks, atmosphere and view!

  • Tammy F.

Awesome queso, salsa, chips n shrimp! Atmosphere and steel drums player are a added bonus! Love this place!

Horrible service. Waitress didn't write down order, got whole thing wrong. Don't waste your money.

Driving thru Flagler, this place called to me. It looked like a lot of fun. Went up to the second floor deck (awesome view) and had a couple of delicious margaritas and incredible calamari. After a bit, a disabled young man came over wearing a Fuego Del Mar shirt. He sat down and starting talking with my girlfriend and I. We only were able to understand every other word but we got the idea of what he was talking about. I really appreciate a place that hires the disabled, it says a lot about the place! After he left our table, he must have carried 10 container of ice up the stairs...he was a hard working guy! The calamari that we ate was so fresh and had a great sauce over it, my only recommendation is that the sauce come on the side....I like my calamari crispy. Great food, great drinks and great people----this is THE PLACE TO GO TO IN FLAGER!!!

Nothing beats capping off your week with great food and good music, and that's what you'll find at Fuego. The service we receive is always bar none. We had an issue with a dish -The Hollywood- once and the chef now comes out each time we order it to ensure that its made to perfection. We have dubbed Fridays as Fuego Fridays and as I said nothing pairs better with a Friday night than Fuego!

Went to a wedding here then followed up with drinks and dinner a few days later. Food was normal, basic mex. food. Waite staff screwed up the order because she did not write it down. Still staff here is very nice and fun. The location is great and you can sit outside under heat lamps, upstairs with a view of the ocean or inside. It is beach casual, a friendly kind of neighborhood place. During the wedding I spoke with the Mgr. he really tried to accommodate everything we asked for, so did the staff. Cost is totally reasonable and I will definitely go back next time I am in town. Friends told me the owner is quite a good guy also.

Absolutely terrible, weird fusion style Mexican that often tastes as though some or all of the dish came out of the freezer. My chicken was rubbery and had that gamey taste to it that can sometimes happen when it's been sitting too long, the salsa was watery and thin, and the very unusual, very not-Mexican-in-origin orange sauce that covers everything is not attractive nor is it particularly tasty. I'm spoiled because of my decades on the west coast, where real, excellent Mexican food can be found on a truck outside your place of employment or in a parking lot next to a liquor store but hey, let's face it--this is a bar, not a restaurant--and the food reflects that fact. Painfully. Sorry to say but there's not a good Mexican joint that I've found yet between JAX and Daytona. Fuego del Mar is most definitely not it.

Just had my first visit to Flagler Beach. We found Fuego Del Mar just on the corner with a great view of the beach. We had a little dog and the staff was very welcoming and open to having our dog and even gave her plenty of water. We sat downstairs on the deck. While we were ordering, we had a nice visit from the manager, Rick, where he made sure that we were comfortable and welcome. The food was terrific and the marguerita was great. The next day we drove to Daytona but decided to go back to Fuego Del Mar and was once again greeted by Rick and his staff, awesome shrimp quesidillas!

Really nice upscale Mexican and drinks. Unique in Flagler.

  • Allison S.

Horrible experience from all perspectives. Although they did accomodate dogs on the downstairs deck, that's the only customer service - or service in general - we received. The prices on tequilas were incorrect, yet they insisted on charging what prices were in the computer. The tequila I ordered was most certainly not what I ordered. They were out of the two appetizers we wanted (during a known bike week). My friends rum runner contained little to no alcohol, and the waitress accidentally orders two extra drinks and asked if we'd like them (and pay for them). I absolutely would never recommend this restaurant/cantina/tequila bar to anyone. We later had a different server, brittany, who was great. .. but the whole experience was disappointing.

  • Lindsay S.

This was my first time here and I REALLY enjoyed it. I had carne asada tacos which were delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and had tons of flavor. The bartender was very friendly and attentive and even made me a special margarita with coconut tequila. I highly recommend this place. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere and view.

  • Manda C.

Service was great, food was great. You can sit on the upper deck of the restaurant while looking to the beach. It's a win win. Their prices aren't outrageous like others say. The burritos, burgers and full plate of nachos (with with two of us, we couldn't finish) were around $10-12 each. That's what normal places charge. Yes, their mixed drinks are a little high - $6. But.. What restaurant down here isn't charging that? Beer was normal price, $2.50 for a draft? Overall, awesome place.

  • Roy B.

Just moved here and had to try it out. Stale chips were palpable. But all 3 meals ordered were horribly seasoned, and all of the food tasted like it was marinated on a salt lick. First time, last time. Don't waste your time.

    (1)
  • J A.

Great place for drinks overlooking the beach. I have never eaten here, and only go for "happy hour" time frame, but always a good time.

  • Heather D.

Just had a wonderful meal with my family. Had to eat inside as music was too loud for conversation but enjoyed a quiet meal. Had the Mahi fish tacos and enjoyed the hint of spice. As an Arizonan, I like traditional spicy Mexican and was not disappointed. Not traditional enchiladas and fire roasted salsa but very good. Decent prices, excellent service. On list of places to do again.

  • Amanda B.

We are visiting from KY and this place was hard to pass by. Great atmosphere and location. Top deck is awesome for sitting ocean side. Great view! Staff were all friendly, from the bartender downstairs to both hostesses that helped us. Food was great! We will be back.

  • Ellis A.

This was the perfect ending to a beautiful day. Part One Tribe playing some awesome reggae rap mix and the sun on my back! Order "the Hollywood" on the tapas menu. Made a meal for 2. Loved the salsa, too! Great food, welcoming service and an amazing location. What more can you ask for? Say hi to Joey at bar!!! Great guy!

    (5)
  • Brian B.

This place is amazing. The food was excellent. Had the egg rolls and chimichanga. Long Island ice tea. The service was wonderful as well. The only complaint I have was the chips. They tasted under cooked, a bit rubbery. But everything else... Yum

    (5)
  • Octavious D.

Typical ho-hum bar food. The quality depends on who is cooking for that day. Nothing has been consistent. Beer is always on the warm side. Don't ask for cold beer, they just give you a cup of ice. They charge for parking during special events and holidays, even if you are a customer. Do not stay after dark unless you want to fight as the crowd gets young and rowdy.

    (2)
  • Steve L.

Called on July 4th to ask if they were busy. They said "No, everyone is at the beach." We said we'll be right up. Got there and Surprise: they were charging $25 to park in their lot and only $10 if you planned to eat there. We were told by the attendant that the charge was " Today only". RIDICULOUS and why weren't we told this on the phone? Attendant told us that "The owner of the restaurant thinks that's fair." Sorry - that's not fair. You've permanently lost 3 customers. Glad you are so successful that it doesn't matter to you.

    (2)
  • Jason H.

Chicken nachos are delicious. Layered and def worth the money. Atmosphere was cool. I should've upgraded my house margarita. It wasn't my favorite margarita if all time.

    (4)
  • Katie V.

Please I beg of you do not waste your time. I am absolutely shocked this place has a combined 3 stars? It is a night club for the 18-30 crowd. I see a Conch House situation coming soon as fights are a regular occurrence. After I went into a diabetic coma last night because it took over 2 hours to get my food, a neurotic woman who claimed to be our waitress verbally assaulted my party for walking out on the bill that 3 separate employees had already told us was comped. Not sure how we walked out considering we were still there, nonetheless, the manager was very nice and gave us free drinks to make up for the attack. So I had free food, free drinks and I'm still suggesting you drive right by.

    (1)
  • Drew M.

Over priced, pretentious, bland and boring. Sorry, you can't make food taste good by using "upscale" plating cliches. "durrrr... I will drizzle the ketchup over this here burrito in a crosshatch pattern like they do on them thar shows on the food network!". Typical attempt to put lipstick on a pig. This is not only bad food, it's dishonest food. I will not be returning.

    (1)
  • Stephanie H.

Being from out of the state I figured this bad would have a good selection of food. They sort of did but the food was not good. The nachos seemed like all they did was throw the chips with chorizo on them and sprinkled some cheese on them. The pico the Gallo was nothing but huge chunks of onion and maybe 3 small pieces of tomato. Service was good but just the food was not appetizing at all. We had to leave there and go somewhere else for better food. This place just seems good for their drinks.

    (2)
  • Bob G.

Tried it again on a Sunday night about an hour before closing. It wasn't busy and we had better service. Surprise, beer on the menu wasn't available and when I ordered a second option it took over 10 minutes to get it. The Cali burrito, carne asada tacos and fish tacos were all good and came out like they should in a reasonable time.

    (3)
  • Carlos S.

Excellent food and service at this place. Empanadas and ceviche are to die for. Atmosphere and location is awesome. Keep up the good work.

    (4)
  • Veronica D.

Id give this place a no star if i could food was disgusting overpriced and poor service will not recommend to come to this place

  • Tara I.

If you are looking for a great place to enjoy the ocean and fabulous food stop by the deck....ask for JUDY!! She is the finest server in flagler County....the chimichanga is my favorite, but man oh man you gotta try those southwest mussels!

    (5)
  • Jenni J.

Worst service ever. we were informed about a 20 minute wait if we sat inside. no problem. after 20 minutes and seeing that there were empty table outside we checked back and said table is about ready. We were seated inside where pretty much all table were empty. Server approved us quick for drinks and taking our order, but the food took about 30 minutes to come out. Then it was wrong, they came back with mine and 6-7 minutes later came out with my husbands which was COLD. Server did not apologize at all. we just asked for to go boxes and went home to eat. food was okay. will not go back. Also very pricey for a Mexican restaurant.

  • Jason S.

We spend a week or two in Flagler every summer and this has become our favorite spot. Incredible food an beer and view! I've seen some negative comments about service so I wanted to comment on that. I'm not denying that others have had bad experiences but our experience (eating there twice in two weeks) was great. We had extended family with us both times. On our first visit this summer we were a 12-top that included 5 kids and an infant. The staff was incredibly patient and accommodating. Our server was fantastic. I was so impressed (given our large, energetic party!) that I got her name. I forgot to give props to the managers, so if you're reading this, her name was Brooke (sp?). Kudos, Fuego.

  • Chad M.

This place does not deserve the bad reviews it gets. We just ate there tonight and enjoyed the food immensely. The margaritas are excellent and the view makes the place a winner. The Mexican inspired food was very flavorful and seemed fresh. The price was a tad high but you are on the beach what do you want. Next time i come up here I will return it was worth it.

  • Nancy D.

Great View, but other than that, They were out of all draft beers, told us only had Sam Adams so we ordered, $11 dollars for two cups of beer. We order chips and Salsa and it took a very long time to come. While we were waiting we were approached twice with someone else's order. Will not go here again.

    (1)
  • Adam Renny M.

Food was great. Drinks were a little strong but good tasting. Chips and Salsa were great!

I thought the food was very very good at the chili Riano's Clean friendly atmosphere Very courteous staff A very good experience for the first time Looking forward to coming back in the future

  • Mishaela B.

We came here for lunch on a whim. I'm not really a fan of Mexican fare, but these chicken enchiladas were the best I've had. A roasted Chipotle sauce, grated cheese...no melted cheese soup with tortillas here! Also the beef empanadas were great--on the spicy side with olives and a slight sweetness from raisins--they reminded me of what I grew up eating in Venezuela. The Chile relleno was nothing like I've had before and I order these alot. The outside was still crispy, the pepper relish. Smothering it had serious flavor and the stuffing, while it looked weird and gray was super tasty. I imagine the color was from the wild mushrooms. Portions were hearty for the 12 bucks per plate.

    (5)
  • Beau S.

Besides the view this place is way over priced! A $6 mixed drink is barley 6oz. A pitcher of bud light is $11 and draft beer is $3.50 a beer. Obviously u pay for the view but other than than that the food is lack-luster and the prices are are ridiculously stupid! 5 pieces of shrimp and 20 fries on the kids menu is over $7.00. This place retarded when it comes to their pricing!

    (2)
  • Ian M.

Great view, friendly service, food just OK and over spiced. Shrimp tacos burned my face off and I grow Hab, Datil and Birdseye - would have been fine if I had asked for super hot but I didn't . The recovery from my complaint was not handled well.

Stopped in for some photos of Flagler Beach.......When I captured a strong aroma of Mexican Cuisine.Spotted the location of the smells and strolled on over to the out-door bar. So I grabbed a stool and a menu. The bartender,David was a awesome assistant to my beverage needs. He also assisted me,when a huge Mosquito decided to go for a swim in my beer...... totally my luck!! Without hesitation David supplied me a fresh beer to enjoy! Thanks for that! The food was no let down either, order The Kush ! Expecting a regular Nacho Salad, you can imagine the surprise I received when the waiter, with the assistance of David, dropped the biggest Steak Nacho Salad I had ever seen, in front of me.It was HUGE, so huge I was able to share with the other members of my household as a late night snack. That was Great...... Brownie Points with roommates.....Check. Overall, one of my more pleasent dinning experiences, granted the mosquito was a unfortunate event, but it just amplified the amount of pride that this restaurant takes in it customer service. So if you are in the area, searching for that next great dinning experience.I suggest you stop on by Fuego Del Mar, you will not be disappointed. Wed. Nights are Comedy Nights if you like comedy.Thursdays are Lady's nights, were wells are free for the ladies. Thanks Again for the great dinner by the Sea!!

  • Raz A.

The view was great, service, food and drinks average. Price was much higher for quality of food. Probably would not go there again, not worth a 2nd trip.

    (3)
  • Emily E.

For the price of the food, I expected WAY better (both food and service). It wasn't even that busy but we hardly were given refills and the extra condiments we asked for with our meal didn't come until after we had already finished eating. The chips were stale, the burrito was not good and it was cold. Disappointed with my service and food. Seems like a great place to drink and listen to live music by the beach, but definitely not a place to eat.

    (2)
  • Scott S.

Terrible. Poor service. Food was disgusting. Order was messed up and never got fixed correctly. Food took over an hour. No pride in what they plate and forget if you have special requests or food allergies. The gas station convenience store next door would have probably been better if not way faster. Forget this place. There are many other establishments in Flagler Beach that care about their customers.

    (1)
  • Will R.

The food was mediocre and it was next to impossible to place a simple order. The waiter made an absolute scene, which should have gotten us to pick up and leave. Who knows why we stayed? He was loud, angry, and dramatic and indicated we were being a problem. The owners seem uneducated about their own menu. This food is no where near the normal standard of good Mexican food. At best it's an upscale sleazy biker bar.

    (2)
  • G M.

We've been to Fuego many times - we go for the view only. Sadly, the wait staff messes up our order more than they get it right. This leads to waiting forever for our food, or half delivered orders. Good atmosphere though. Food and service, not so much.

    (1)
  • Brian A.

Arrived around 7pm. Upstairs dining area was great...especially with a breeze. Chris provided great service despite the number o customers he was serving. Chimichanga (their signature dish) was very good (the sauce makes it). Mahi and snapper dishes were very good. Snapper is freshest fish offered.

    (4)
  • Sarah Y.

Chile rellanos overcooked and mushy, not a pretty presentation but taste was ok. . Salsa has too much garlic. Just soso....

    (2)
  • Eddy A.

Really great seaside bar/restaurant with touch of latin spice. Classic Tex/Mex cuisine featuring fajitas, chimichangas, tacos, and more. They make some really good margaritas (get them on the rocks) and they also make some fantastic salsa. Homemade fresh and not from a jar. Guacamole is alright, needs a bit of salt for my taste I had the pork and pineapple pastor tacos. Its lightly fried pork chunks mixed with pineapple and is served with rice and your choice of black or refried beans. Service was genuine there, overall a really good spot to enjoy the view with some friends

First time here. Was brought there to watch Comedy show that they host wed nights. Had a couple of drinks but no food had already eaten before I went but many ppl were eating n it looked n smelled good. Servers were good

  • Christy K.

Food and apps were good. We had shrimp cerviche and guacamole for apps and both good. We all had burritos and/or tacos and they were all very good. Prices were reasonable and service was good. Was raining but if not this place would have had amazing views! Of course that was out of their control ;)

    (4)
  • Randy W.

Very good chips & salsa. I had chicken enchiladas they were very good. My friend had steak tacos. But sadly they had zero flavor and were extremely tough. The rice & beans were not good either. The staff & manager were very nice and tried to make the meals better.

    (2)
  • Mark P.

dont waste your money!!!!! Food is awful, presentation is awful, food is over priced and they charge for extra chips and salsa, which is not the end of the world but there is not enough for a 5 year old to begin with, TRUST ME ON THIS, BETTER FOOD AT THE BALL GAME

    (1)
  • Maria P.

Waaaaaay too much cigarette smoking at the bar downstairs. Had to hold my breath ordering at the bar.

    (1)
  • Lore G.

Disappointed.... Chips and salsa: salsa tasted like caned salsa, you would expect something made from fresh tomatoes. Food was over spiced, and way overpriced. Good service, nice location, that's all.

  • Marie S.

We just got back from our first time at Fuego Del Mar. I ordered a chili relleno with black beans on the side and my husband had a chimichanga with refried beans. Our waitress said the chimichanga was the most popular item on the menu and that my chili relleno was "very good" and recommend the green sauce which is made in house. We were given a very small basket of cold chips and a dish of salsa to start. My husband was pleased with the bottled beer selections and I just had water. When our meals arrived we were asked if there was anything else we needed. We requested another basket of chips and were told it would be at an additional charge of $2.50! For a tiny basket the size of small cereal bowl? No thanks. I looked down at my plate and I was surprised to see a very large, heavily breaded fried item covered with an abundance of chopped chilies, no sauce. I have never seen a chili relleno that looked like that. Usually it is a large pepper, stuffed with cheese, battered...not breaded..in a light egg based coating and fried to a delicious crispiness. The black beans were straight from a can, no seasoning at all and the rice was a mix, very dry and stale. I cut in to the chili ( with great effort!) and inside was a grey pasty substance with mushrooms. It tasted like mushy Thanksgiving boxed stuffing mix. The breading on the chili was hard and thick. It was burning hot on the outside and cold as ice on the inside. Obviously straight from the freezer to the fryer. I could not taste the chili at all and if there was any cheese, it was indictable. There was also not one bit of Mexican flavor of any kind. My husband fared no better. His chimi was so hard he could hardly cut it. It was also tasteless and a complete disappointment. Our meal cost $31 including my husband's beer. They have a lot of work to do on their food if they want to succeed. On the plus side, our waitress was very nice.

Can't beat the breathtaking view from the second floor of this seaside eatery. Whether you come in from the beach or are wearing sleeves, all are made welcome. Chips and salsa are fresh and very tasty. There is a TEQUILLA list of approx 70 choices. The Mexican fare is out of the ordinary. I loved the Relleno and would come back to try something with fish. Servers were very friendly and accommodating.

    (4)
  • Mary S.

We had an excellent waitress who was honest on her recommendations. The salsa and chips were disappointing in that they were too spicy to eat. They should offer a milder salsa as an option to the extra spicy salsa that they serve. Otherwise the quality was excellent. The special steak was a great value but unfortunately it came out almost raw. It was just seared on the outside. I had ordered it medium rare. I sent it back and they cooked it some more but it was still very rare on the second offering. The other dishes were just ok. They do have excellent margaritas though. I wish our experience was better as they are in a great location with a great view of the beach.

Good food. We had pastor tacos and the shrimp tacos. Wait staff was attentive to us and everyone around us. Atmosphere was great outdoor Florida restaurant and bar - good cover band - orange avenue.

Love love love this place. Food and drinks are always amazing. Atmosphere is awesome.

  • T M.

Terrible... They spent a lot of money on the place BUT, they must be paying the chef minimum wage. There is no excuse for the food they prepare. Had the carna asada. The carna was very well done and the meat had more fat than meat. Save your money. Good place to hang and drink... Good view.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
